London Technology Week 2014 runs between 16-20th June and there are a whole host of events that “celebrate the vibrancy of tech innovation in our capital city�?. Big Data Partnership are pleased to participating by running a Big Data Hack Day for those with an interest in data science and machine learning.
At the Hack Day, you will work in small teams to build a ‘real time’ music recommendation system with the guidance of the experienced Big Data Partnership team. You will be working with an open music encyclopedia, MusicBrainz, as the core dataset and utilising the technologies underpinning big data including Hadoop, Pig, Mahout and Solr to build the system throughout the day.
You’ll be glad to know lunch is provided so just bring yourself, a laptop and an interest in Big Data!
